Licensing & Registration

Alberta physicians must be licensed with the College to practise medicine in the province. Physicians must renew their licence by December 1 each year to avoid late payment penalties and possible suspension. The renewal process includes:

• payment of annual fees,
• possession of liability coverage/insurance, and
• completion of the online annual renewal form.

NOTE: The annual online renewal process does not apply to physicians on the Educational Register except those with Physician Extender Licences. For more information contact registration@cpsa.ab.ca.
