Registration in Alberta under the Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT) Effective September 1, 2010, physicians with an independent practice licence in a Canadian province or territory may be eligible for a practice permit in Alberta, regardless of whether or not they meet the registration requirements of the CPSA under the Health Professions Act. College activities outlined in the Health Professions Act (HPA) are subject to the Ombudsman Act. This allows any person not satisfied with these activities to make a formal complaint to the Alberta Ombudsman.
