Accreditation/Quality of Care

Medical Facility Accreditation Committee (MFAC)

MFAC oversees the College’s accreditation programs, MFAC members have a wide range of experience and expertise. This ensures:

  • A broad perspective is brought to each discipline’s issues
  • Improved consistency for standards and how they are applied for each discipline
  • And accountability to Albertan’s needs

 

MFAC is responsible for:

  • Advising College Council and other stakeholders on accredited medical facility standards and their services
  • Identifying broad policy issues and preparing these for Council’s direction
  • Serving as the accreditation committee for services with too few facilities to warrant a discipline-specific standing committee. Those services include Cardiac Exercise Stress Testing and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
