Overview
The PAR program gives physicians feedback on their performance. Every five years, physicians distribute questionnaires to patients, physician colleagues and non-physician healthcare co-workers. Topics covered in the survey include medical competency, communication skills and office management.
Survey results give physicians a benchmark for good performance and identify opportunities for professional development and practice improvement.
Under the Health Professions Act, College Council is required to approve rules for physician participation in the PAR program. Following circulation of the proposed rules to the profession, Council approved the Rules for Member Participation in March 2011.
